EXFIL includes an entire "campaign", where you need to level up your PMC to unlock new maps that have higher risk and more reward, with harder to access extracts and harder AI.
The EXFIL developers have gone through a lot of medical items in the game, changing their attributes and adding new ones. Some medkits may be more effective against effects such as radiation poisoning and some may give you a boost in your combat performance, but could cost you your life.
We've gone through BSG's old effects and graphics system, and have modified it to make the game cinematic and keeping the general tone of EFT while making sure that everything is properly visible. We base our graphics off of Contract Wars and Russia 2028
We have also gone through the main menu and moved around/removed things to make it clearer and more aesthetically pleasing. (This feature is not finished yet, but will be present in the 0.1 remaster!)
Every trader has been changed, with a hand-made assortment of items and new mechanics like discounts. One trader could be selling a backpack for 10,000 roubles, and another could sell the same backpack for 5,000.
Obviously, EFT doesn't have the most realistic recoil and it's way too intense and hard to control. With EXFIL, almost every weapon has had their recoil values changed. Your PMC will now try to control the gun without your input, but you will still need to do some of the work. The recoil is much snappier and easier to control, and has little to no camera punch.
EFT's ammo system is flawed in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to armor penetration and damage. Now, ammo is a lot more balanced, but is still very deadly. Shotguns are now useful against armor (especially at close ranges), due to their ability to do massive damage.
Loose loot and container loot spawning has also been redone, with it being much easier to find random junk and guns compared to keys and such. This isn't all just junk, though! Most of it can be sold to traders or used for barters.
Just because you're fighting against bots doesn't mean the game is easy, nor does it mean the bots are stupid. Make one dumb move and your raid is over, no matter if you're fighting against a Scav with a PM or a boss with a VSS. If a bot spots you, they will kill you without hesitation.
It's not all Scavs that you're fighting, there's also BEAR and USEC PMCs that will work together and fight each other, with the chance of rogues spawning. For a more in-depth look at this in 11.7, watch this video
